Lisita at Lucca Comics

Foodmetti: the Lisita sfogliatella dedicated to Commissario Ricciardi arrives
A limited edition signed by Lisita in collaboration with Foodmetti, available exclusively at Lucca Comics & Games. The collaboration will be presented during the festival on 30 October at 17.00.
The “Commissario Ricciardi” sfogliatella is born.
The idea comes from Pasticceria Lisita together with Foodmetti – Artisti delle Tavole. A capsule dedicated to the well-known character created by Maurizio De Giovanni, best known to most from the popular Rai television series.
A limited edition made for collectors: traditional sfogliatelle packed in a box dedicated to Commissario Ricciardi, illustrated by Daniele Bigliardo.
The special box of Commissario Ricciardi’s sfogliatelle will be available exclusively during Lucca Comics & Games, from 30 October to 3 November, a true collector’s treasure for lovers of Neapolitan pastry and of comics alike.
The collaboration between Lisita and Commissario Ricciardi, hero of the books published by Sergio Bonelli Editore, grows out of a shared Neapolitan spirit. Passion, tradition and a deep bond with the city: two creations, the sfogliatelle of Pasticceria Lisita, for three generations a symbol of artisan excellence, and the famous character from 1930s Naples, which express with the same intensity the essence of a city rich in history and flavour.
And the packaging of this special box shows an intimate moment deeply rooted in Neapolitan culture: the after-lunch pause at Caffè Gambrinus. A small ritual which, for this occasion, features Commissario Ricciardi, his friend Doctor Bruno Modo and the author Maurizio De Giovanni. Inside this special box are three traditional sfogliatelle, to be enjoyed with a coffee, just as Commissario Ricciardi likes to do in the company of his most trusted friends.
“I’ve told you before, for instance, that sfogliatelle are one of the reasons life is worth living. Not the only one, heaven knows, but certainly one, and not a minor one. Not so much for the sfogliatella itself, though it has a magic of its own, as for the time it takes you to eat it” […] The commissario protested: “I like sfogliatelle. You know they’re practically my lunch when I can’t leave the office.” “You may well like them, I don’t say you don’t. But you devour them, you don’t savour them. Look at how they’re eaten: you start from the tip, see? You break off a little, put it in your mouth, taste it. Then you chew slowly, and only swallow when the flavour fills your whole mouth.”
From Una domenica con il commissario Ricciardi, by Maurizio De Giovanni (2015).
For more than sixty years, the sfogliatella has been a Lisita family story handed down from generation to generation, from the founder Salvatore to his son Alfredo, and now in the care of his grandson Salvatore. It is a pastry that stands for dedication, passion and love for artisan pastry-making. Crisp layers of pastry that hold the classic, traditional flavours of grandfather Salvatore’s original recipe: ricotta, semolina and candied fruit.
This is the third limited edition from Pasticceria Lisita, following the success of the one dedicated to the three Lisita generations and of the casatiello sfogliatella.
Commissario Ricciardi’s sfogliatelle by Lisita, in collaboration with Foodmetti, will be presented at a dedicated panel on 30 October at 17.00 by Salvatore Lisita, the founder’s grandson, and Michele Masiero, editorial director of Sergio Bonelli Editore.
